Non-ascii chars are not correctly rendered in both MAN and HTML output or
may even cause compilation failure. Thus avoid to use them until we find
a satisfying way to deal with them.
Fix trac ticket #2243.
In particular: always use @table @samp for showing constant tables, add a
few empty lines for improving readability, and specify default value when
missing.
Only power-of-two FFTs are supported; so to get a full spectrum
(that is, one up to Nyquist), the height must be a power of two.
Therefore, change the default height from 480 to 512.

Ported from MPlayer. Original author is A'rpi, with various
contributions from Michael Niedermayer. The original documentation was

The filter is under GPL like the original filter, even if it differs
quite a lot. There is not much point in making it LGPL since pp is under
GPL.
This will prevent an overflow in the SSSE3 and MMX filter_line code:
delta is expressed as an u16 being shifted by 2 to the left. If it
overflows, having a strength not above 64 will make sure that m is set
to 0 (making the m*m*delta >> 14 expression void).
A value above 64 should not make any sense unless gradfun is used as a
blur filter.
This filter pads an audio stream with silence
It can together with -shortest be used to extend audio streams to
the same length as video.

The file now contains also an audio select implementation. Also move the
aselect/select documentation from video filters to the multimedia filters
section.
The following commit will make it useless.
The crop_scale_vflip FATE test changes because of off-by-one differences
in output when vflipped slices are passed to sws.
The new expansion mechanism uses the %{...} notation.
For compatibility reasons, it must be enabled explicitly,
but a warning is printed if a conflict is likely to happen.

If the first argument can be read as a video size, set that output size
in the scale. This allows to specify in a filtergraph scale=qcif or
scale=320x240.
This is not completely safe, for example in case of a typo in the video
size string the first argument will be read as the input width
expression, giving rise to a confusing comment.

The GRAPH_DESCRIPTION string supplied to graph2dot must include explicitly
defined inputs and outputs which are not normally part of the command line
used in a real invocation.

This allows for padding/trimming at the start of stream. By default, no
assumption is made about the first frame's expected pts, so no padding or
trimming is done.
The voice register functions return the same voice structure
upon multiple registration. It causes us two problems:
If we delete a voice without deregistering it, it leaves
a dangling pointer inside the library.
If we delete or unregister a voice at uninit, it may still
be in use by another instance of the filter.
The second problem is solved by keeping an usage counter inside
asrc_flite. This is not thread-safe, but neither is flite itself.
Since the recent changes, movie and amovie are able to deal with more
than one type of stream, so they should be categorized as "multimedia
sources" rather than audio/video sources.
These filters are designed for storing and transmitting video sequences
with alpha using higher-efficiency codecs such as x264 which don't
natively support an alpha channel. 'alphaextract' takes an input stream
with an alpha channel and returns a video containing just the alpha
component as a grayscale value; 'alphamerge' takes an RGB or YUV stream
and adds an alpha channel recovered from a second grayscale stream.

The planar/packed switch and the packing_formats list is no longer
required, since the planar/packed information is now stored in the sample
format enum.
This is technically a major API break, possibly it should be not too
painful as we marked the audio filtering API as unstable.

The option is related to the timecode, the new name clearly specifies the
context. Also it allows to list the option close to the other timecode
options.
This new mode is useful for generating frames for interlaced video
displays. Typically interlaced video displays have no form of field
synchronisation. This new mode guarantees correct field order without
any requirement for field synchronisation.

Omitting the seconds has not worked for a long time, if ever.
Omitting the minutes too is just nonsensical for a duration
(it is indistinguishable from just seconds).
